Director, Purdue Healthcare Advisors
Randy Hountz, MBA, serves as director at Purdue Healthcare Advisors (PHA). In this role, he oversees PHA’s programs and services, including its performance improvement offerings (Lean Six Sigma for Healthcare, process and quality improvement, patient flow, rapid improvement events); technology adoption assistance (electronic health records, health information security); consulting and compliance facilitation (Meaningful Use, Patient Quality Reporting System/Value Based Modifier, Patient Centered Medical Home); and training/continuing education.
Randy also acts as director of the Purdue Regional Extension Center (PurdueREC), which operates under a $14 million award from the Department of Health and Human Services “to assist the Indiana healthcare community in realizing the promise of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) by facilitating EHR adoption and use.” Over the last four years, a 30-person PurdueREC team led by Randy assisted more than 3,000 clinicians and 50 hospitals and secured an estimated $170 million in federal incentives for Indiana healthcare providers as their practices and hospitals adopted EHRs and met federal Meaningful Use objectives.

He has worked for the Purdue Technical Assistance Program, which manages the PHA division, since 2006. Randy earned his Master of Science in management, and Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, from Purdue in 1999 and 1994, respectively.
